Annotation:
After being interrogated for days by the Department of Homeland Security in the aftermath of a major terrorist attack on San Francisco, California, seventeen-year-old Marcus, released into what is now a police state, decides to use his expertise in computer hacking to set things right.

Summary: Seventeen year old Marcus is a tech geek of the highest level. He uses technology to evade the schools monitoring, to live a life free of the ridiculous rules of this future society, and most importantly he uses technology to play the game Harajuku Fun Madness. A game that encourages him to ditch school, and on this particular day leads to disaster. However when on his way to discovering the next clue, he is near the center of a terrorist attack in his hometown of San Francisco, an attack that officials thinks he is somehow involved in. Now technology will change his life forever.

After being harshly interrogated by the official for six days, forced to endure hunger and self defication, he is finally released. Only then does he vow to fight the unjust policies of the government, explaining just how technology has seeked into every aspect of our society.

This novel is hot! Teens will appreciate the realness of Marcus and all his friends, and will instantly feel connected to the cause. Perfect for the techno geek or the political activist, this novel represents the stark realities of living in a post 9-11 society, but without the sentimentality. Teens will be reluctant to put this novel down until the final page, and adults won't be much different.
